Ok, this might need a bit of explanation... In the games, you can get more than one Dialga, but in the Anime, there can only be one, cus it's a legendary. So what would happen if your two characters met in a pokemon anime, how would they explain to each other how they each got all their legendaries?

Ok... To clarify some things...
First of all, what I meant by this were the legendaries who were really strong. And if one character was a cheater, and had say... FIVE Arceuses, how who they explain to Ash or someone from the anime how they got five one of a kind pokemon...
Also, Dawn's awsome face turned not so awsome.

A bit of explanation? or mayby it makes it even harder Its posible to have 2 legendary's in the anime there were a few episodes with 2 lugias; mother and child. this episode even gave one a gender whats also not possible according to the game

Certain Legendarys, such as Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Dalgia, Ect. Ones that have major impacts on the world there can only be one of. Others, such as Lugia, Ho-Ho, Celebi, ect. Have possibilities to have genders, and such, have more than one. The games don't give genders to the legendaries because they don't want people breeding them, and generally genders breed, with the exception of baby pokemon.

heatran, latios, and latias have genders, yet they cant breed the other legendaries not having genders isnt b/c so they cant breed. they just dont in the game.

actually, the only true one-of-a-kind legends are Arceus and mewtwo

@u_fido_u: thats true. but if u get a pokemon from an event it wont breed either. or maybe thats for some other reason. he has a genderbut my dragonite wont breed.

@Aragorn199: wut? whether it's the show or the game that comment is not true

Well, aragorn199 kinda has a point: Mewtwo is a man-made clone of Mew. There's no way that there could ever be more than one Mewtwo unless somebody actually made another one.

As for Arceus, well, it's supposedly the creator of the entire world. I guess that could mean that there's only one because there was only one to begin with.

My theory In the Anime a Lugia gave birth, and pokemon cannot breed in the game...

So there is a distinct possibility that there are more then one legendary they just spawn at different rates...

cause if you think about it Legendaries would never age and never die... o.o that seems a bit much for some of the lessers like Articuno and Raikou IMO

I think they just breed every 100-500 years or so giving the illussion that there is only one ;D
